These amazing 78 year old McCarty Bros. planters featuring Chinese children on stacks of books were made by McCarty Bros. Ceramics in Sierra Madre, California in 1947. The recent Eaton fire included parts of Sierra Madre, and on the day these were found, residents were being evacuated for mudslides due to the fire. As a child of Los Angeles, this connection was deep and a message that these planters are either meant to return to a reclaimed home, or they should somehow help with recovery. Since I can't legally do a raffle, I am listing them at twice their value to add $100 to a GoFundMe supporting a fire victim of this area.
