Vintage 1950s One Quarter Peck Poplar Bushel Basket

Poplar and steel wire bushel basket, used traditionally for harvesting fruits and vegetables. This lightweight basket is made from thin strips of poplar wood bent into the bucket shape and rims then fastened with steel staples, and finished with a hinged wire arch and turned wood handle, Measures about 12.5" with the handle, and is 8" in diameter. These baskets are used in orchards to gather apples and stone fruit but is also great for harvesting root veggies and what ever else you grow.
